Confessions of an Unhealthy Home

If an unhealthy home could speak, what would it say? Would it be proud to admit to every secret lurking in each nook and cranny? Could some unknowns be busy hanging out on your kitchen countertops, secure in their ability to hide so well in broad daylight? Imagine the pain is enough to cause a home to complain in some way.

Many homes have literally crumbled under the weight of disease. The term Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is real. A sick home can and does show many symptoms. Nearly every one has seen the telltale signs of mold (some call it mildew) in the corners of the shower or other damp areas, such as basements or attics. Even the fuzzy colorful growth found on leftovers in the fridge are more than just a gr5B4oss inconvenience-it is an unhealthiness that can and should be prevented.

Just as the human body exhibits warning signs, or symptoms, enough to warrant going to the doctor or the internet for answers-searching for healing-homes and buildings have ways of crying out for help. Some of the signs are visible mold and/or an identifiable odor noticed upon entering the building. There are easy and inexpensive ways to perform a preliminary test on the indoor air quality. Structures that have sustained water damage will undoubtedly have issues that need to be addressed for the health and safety of families or employees.

Indoor air quality and related health issues are making headlines almost daily. Events at schools, hospitals and gyms with the word MRSA attached to it are happening way too often and on the increase. Anywhere that people gather, touch equipment and each other, there is an opportunity for the quick spread of such bacteria and viruses. This has become a major problem and concern nationwide as well as worldwide.

So, what is being done? Major manufacturers are cashing in on this problem by false advertising claims that their cleaning products will kill these germs 99.99%. They say that because they cannot make a 100% claim. If truth be told, these chemical-ridden solutions in a bottle are not killing any germs. They are, however, adding to the dangerous mix-providing precious airways with more carcinogenic 5B4properties, causing a whole host of allergies and sicknesses.

For example, bleach or any form of it, will not kill mold. Yet, following the most recent major hurricanes this country suffered, agencies and the media were telling homeowners to treat the mold with bleach. Bleach will cover the mold for a time, then the mold spores will come back more prolific (almost in vengeance!) spilling multiple times the number of original spores. And the bleach itself is harmful not only to the environment, but to anyone who uses it. Even if gloves are worn, the vapors are not kind to the pores of our skin or our lungs. It is a well known fact that chlorinated water is unsafe to bathe or take a shower with. In fact, a shower delivering (public) chlorinated water is very dangerous-there are showerheads and whole home water purification systems that will remove the chlorine for safe bathing and drinking. A home without adequate water purification at every faucet, hose and toilet that safely removes all bacteria and particles is also an unhealthy home.

While there is a growing concern for these problems, there is hope and there is help. Healthy, active solutions are available and very affordable. You will not see the answers in the form of commercials on TV or in the sales paper ads of your favorite department stores-genuine truth seekers have learned that you cannot believe the paid advertisements which are marketing ploys. Truth 1C6Bcan be found, but beware-it can be diluted and hidden among the half-truths and the lies. Just as in searching for answers to your health issues, you find the naysayers, the skeptics and the cynics. It takes a little wisdom, some understanding, and a bit of knowledge-do your homework and seek truth. I recommend that for every aspect of life. Purchase from a reputable representative of the manufacturer who will provide valuable information and insure warranties.

My family no longer suffers from the effects of indoor air pollution whether at home or in a public setting due to highly effective active technology that we trust and depend on.
