The Gold Mine Within You

In 2004, Professor Wiseman, an English psychologist, announced the result of an eight-year study carried out by his team. He concluded that good luck or how lucky a person becomes, depends on that persons mental attitude. In other words, the study found that consistent good attitude produced the so-called good luck in the people studied. Also, poor attitude led to ill fated results in those observed. The second conclusion by Professor Wisemans team was that the way the mind is attuned using affirmations or positive mental declarations influenced how lucky people are. In other words, if you keep repeating to yourself that you are a success which in itself is an affirmation, you are bound to succeed.

That same month of May, there was the unusual story of one Mr. Tokoyumi, a 96 year-old Japanese student, probably the oldest university student in the world! Some curious inquirer asked Toyokumi his longevity secret and he replied in just two wordsPositive Attitude.

One afternoon in April 2004, I was thinking of how to contact my wife when my phone rang and guess who was on the line-my wife, of course. But the interesting part was when she asked: Did you try to phone me? and I replied: No, but I was only thinking of calling. We both laughed.

Now what do you find common to all three stories I have just told you? Just one thingthe power of the mind or what I have popularised as MIND POWER, which I developed over the years into a philosophy. Most people are unaware about the enormous power of their minds. Do you realise that there is a gold mine lying dormant within you?

What is the mind? You may ask. Some psychologists describe the mind as the active and spiritual nature in man, which utilizes the brain and the nervous system to express itself. Basic human functions as reasoning and perception among others are all mental processes for which the mind has been equipped.

However there is something more important than these. Man has evolved over the generations to become the king of all creatures. But for his superior mental ability, he would have stood no chance of survival against such ferocious and powerful animals like the lion, tiger, leopard, elephant and others. Based on physical strength alone, the human race would have been wiped out millions of years ago. Mans sovereignty over creation has been aided by the use of the most powerful weapon available to him, his mind. Even the Holy Books of the worlds two great religions, Christianity and Islam, acknowledge this human dominance. Reference is made to this fact in the Holy Bibles Genesis and the Korans suras 18, 25 and 35.

Mankind has come a very long way in terms of progress measured materially and intellectually. Yet, many of us continue to impose iron clad limitations upon ourselves. Some of us adopt a fatalistic view of life, ascribing our failings and misfortunes to divine manipulation. No one should in fact place a ceiling over his head as to how much he can achieve in life. Each one of us should use the greatest gift we were given at birth, our mind. Use it to discover what you are best at and then go for that thing and excel in it. Certainly, there is that gold mine in you, waiting to be mined. For some, they are already doing this and would easily appreciate this message. No one should ever place artificial ceiling over his or her head.

It follows therefore that the only limitations we face in attaining success are those we impose upon ourselves. Those limitations are purely mental, but then they manifest physically. Therefore in order to liberate ourselves from the shackles of self imposed limitations, we must start from the mental realm, where the gold mine is lodged within you. Here the philosophy of Success through Mind Power described step-by-step in the book and can be easily followed. You are guaranteed success.

Week's Motivation - 1

Our mind is of 3 categories: what we know, what we dont know, and what we dont know we dont know. Not knowing is unfortunate; not knowing that we dont know is tragic.

W. Erhart.

The ultimate ignorance is the rejection of something you know nothing about and refuse to investigate.

Dr. Wayne Dyer

I concluded that, unfortunately, only a few want to hear how to become free, stop identifying with their false beliefs, do what they want to do (instead of working for a living), and live in joy which is what we are designed to do. I felt as if I were my own minority group

I truly do want to know that which I dont want to know. Most want security over freedom. As most people identify with their beliefs, giving them up would present the fear, who would I BE? If they were to open their minds, drop their preconceived notions and their sychological prejudices, let go of the concept that their beliefs are who they are, they might become enlightened.

Millions of unconscious people are not taking responsibility for their inner peace.

5 Simple Steps to Uncovering Your Next Big Goal

Do you know what you want? What you really want? While they might not always be easy to find, the answers to this question are there, waiting for you. And if you just have 15 minutes to spare, those answers can soon be yours. Before you begin, you'll need a pencil, a pad of paper, a planner or personal calendar, and a timer or watch. As you answer each of the questions below, don't over think it or worry about the "right" things to say. The point is to gather the first things that pop into your head, so feel free to write anything and everything that comes to mind.

THE FIRST STEP - THINKING LONG-TERM

What do you want to accomplish by the end of your life? Start the timer and spend three minutes - and three minutes only - writing down your answers. Have you always wanted to write a novel? Start a business? Join the Peace Corps?

THE SECOND STEP - THINKING NEXT YEAR

What do you want to accomplish one year from today? Again, just spend three minutes recording all the thoughts and ideas that pop into your head. Would you like to pursue a new career path? Spend more time with your family?

THE THIRD STEP - THINKING NEXT MONTH

What if you found out that you had just one month to live? What would you do with your remaining thirty days? Spend three minutes writing your answers. Would you travel to another country? Get in touch with old friends? Risk it all can chase that dream you've kept locked away inside?

THE FOURTH STEP - WHAT DID YOU FIND?

Review your answers to each of the questions above. What broader themes do you notice? What do they say about who you are and what you really want out of life?

2

After three minutes of looking over what you've written, answer the question: What I really want to do next is...

THE FINAL STEP - PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

With the next big idea in hand, it's important to make sure it doesn't go to waste. Think of a specific action you can take within the next seven days that will get this new goal rolling in the right direction and schedule it in your planner. When the scheduled time arrives, take the action. Don't put it off or reschedule. Once it's done, think of the next step to take and give it a deadline. Continue the process until you accomplish the goal, and then start it all over again!
